What are Remanufactured Ink and Toner Cartridges?
Generic ink combined with remanufactured ink and toner cartridges is the low-cost, high quality, environmentally friendly alternative to the expensive, and environmentally wasteful products, offered by printer manufacturers. A remanufactured cartridge is a cartridge originally sold by a printer manufacturer that is meticulously cleaned, inspected and provided with new parts (as needed), and filled with printer-specific compatible ink. We only sell products from suppliers who use state-of-the-art remanufacturing equipment, with leading edge technologies and techniques.
How Do I Know You Offer High Quality Products?
The team at The Cost Savings Guy spent months identifying the highest quality suppliers of remanufactured ink and toner in the nation. The supplier of our ink has sold millions of remanufactured cartridges to a loyal client base, and has its generic ink products sold in one of the nation's leading retail chains. The offices of The Cost Savings Guy have been exclusively using this ink for several months with no quality issues.
We suggest, however, that the best way to see the quality of our products is to test them. Buy a sample cartridge, use it, and experience high quality printing at a far lower price. We believe that once you test these products, you will stop wasting good money, on unnecessarily expensive ink.
Finally, we provide a reliable guarantee.
Do you offer the lowest priced generic ink and toner on the market?
No. And we are proud to say this.
We offer a high quality product, that is manufactured in a state-of-the art faciltiy using leading edge techniques. As a consequence, we can offer high quality products that are significantly less expensive than manufacturer branded ink.
Cheaper ink products, manufactured by less reliable suppliers, do exist. However, we wanted to be certain that the products we offered our customers combined good pricing with high quality.
If I use Your Products, Does it Affect my Printer Warranty?
No. It is absolutely illegal for a printer manufacturer to require the use of its ink as a condition of the warranty. The Federal Trade Commission website, includes an extensive article titled A Businessperson's Guide to Federal Warranty Law which explains that the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act prohibits this type of limitation on a factory warranty. A portion of the warranty act called "Tie-In" Provisions prohibits a company from requiring that a purchaser of the product buy an item or service from a particular company to use with the warranted product in order to be eligible for a warranty. In the interest of full disclosure, we do want to note that if a third party cartridge somehow breaks inside your printer, and injures your printer, then it could invalidate the warranty, but this is very unlikely. Over the past several years, our product supplier has distributed several million cartridges and related products, and not one of its products has ever invalidated a printer warranty.
How do Remanufactured Cartridges Help The Environment?
Discarded ink cartridges are a significant source of solid waste. It's estimated that 300 million cartridges are discarded each year, which adds up to 1.7 million tons of solid waste. Each discarded laser printer cartridge adds about 3 pounds of solid waste to our landfills. At the same time, the process of manufacturing new ink and toner cartridges requires a substantial use of oil, wasting energy and adding to global warming through the carbon released when oil is burned, and the process itself leads to a substantial amount of solid waste. The production of new cartridges is also a significant waste of valuable energy. The production of a single, new laser toner cartridge consumes 3.5 quarts of oil. The process of remanufacturing cartridges creates far less solid waste, uses far less energy, and avoids the waste associated with discarding the cartridge itself. Our ink supplier, Easy Group LLC, estimates that, to date, the company's remanufacturing and refilling process has saved almost 1.4 million quarts of oil, which would have been used in the creation of new cartridges. In addition, the company has prevented millions of additional pounds of solid waste. When you purchase ink from our store, you are adding to these growing environmental savings.
